fram^: taking the path untrodden since 2012…
fram^ today is a publicly-traded company on the Stockholm stock exchange, with a team of 120 staff across two offices in Ho Chi Minh City and Danang, Vietnam.
But our name dates back to 1893…
Fram was the ship sailed by Norwegian explorer Fridtjof Nansen, in his expedition to become the first human to reach the North Pole.
Nansen’s approach was nothing if not brave. Despite warnings from other explorers, he froze his boat into the sea ice, drifted for 18 months, and completed the final leg of the journey by dog sled.
Today, “fram” – meaning “forward” in Swedish and Norwegian – continues to inspire us to take the path untrodden, and set landmark achievements for ourselves and our clients.
The origins of fram^
fram^ Chairman Christopher Beselin had previously built and managed market leading online businesses both in Europe and Southeast Asia. This included building Lazada.vn from scratch and growing it to become Vietnam’s leading online retailer.
The team grew to include partners with extensive experience of online business and has now expanded from its original e-commerce specialism to span all five core pillars of software engineering.
Our Scandinavian-styled offices in central Saigon serve as an energizing and inspiring base from which to support business across Southeast Asia and Northern Europe.
We serve clients of all sizes, and we are proud to count the likes of Samsung, Bubbleroom, Hansoft and Publicis Group amongst our partners.
The Swedfund partnership
fram^ is securing further growth in collaboration with Swedpartnership, a program provided by Swedfund International.
This three-year project began in 2015 and includes both financial support and business guidance.
Swedfund International is a development finance institution owned by the Swedish state.
